About Doug Noll

Douglas E. Noll, Esq. is a full time mediator, specializing in difficult, complex, and intractable conflicts. Doug attended Dartmouth College, received his law degree from University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law, and his Masters Degree in Peacemaking and Conflict Studies from Fresno Pacific University. He is an adjunct professor of law and chair of the board of trustees at San Joaquin College of Law. Professionally, Doug is AV-rated (the highest lawyer rating) and was a business and commercial trial lawyer for 22 years before turning to peacemaking. He is a Fellow of the International Academy of Mediators, a Fellow of the American College of Civil Trial Mediators and on the American Arbitration Association panel of mediators and arbitrators. He passionate about pragmatic, effective ways for people to find inner and outer peace in everyday conflicts.

Doug is not a pushover. In addition to over twenty years as a trial lawyer, he is a second degree black belt and tai chi instructor. He is not intimidated by difficult cases or people. He speaks his truth from a place of integrity, while always remaining respectful and open.

He is experienced in life, law, and conflict, and is grounded in common sense. Doug is, with John Boogaert, the author of Sex, Politics & Religion at the Office: The New Competitive Advantage (Auberry Press 2006) He is also the author of Peacemaking: Practicing at the Intersection of Law and Human Conflict (Cascadia Publishing House 2002) and numerous articles on peacemaking, restorative justice, conflict resolution and mediation (Columns) He is a trainer, lecturer and continuing education panelist. Doug is an instrument rated pilot, holding both multi-engine and helicopter ratings. He taught and coached advanced skiing for many years as a PSIA level three ski instructor. He has worked as a whitewater guide and still runs western rivers with friends. In the spring and fall, Doug pursues steelhead trout with his Spey rod. In his spare time, he plays Irish fiddle and harp.

Doug is a second degree black belt, a tai chi practitioner and teacher, and an energy healer.
